Q: How is playing in America different from playing overseas?
Freddy Adu: It’s different because you are close to home and you are familiar with the type of soccer that is played here, thus being more comfortable. The level of play has gotten a lot higher here in America so in that sense its closer to the level in some of the european leagues.
Q: Describe your normal routine on a game day? #AUDit –Jarrett
FA: My normal routine on a gameday is to make sure i wake up and eat a big breakfast then sleep for a little bit longer after breakfast. Then wake up, stretch, and eat my pre-game meal about 3 and a half hours before the game.
Q: Do you pump yourself up with music before a big match? What are some of your favorite bands?
FA: I listen to rap music before the game and some of my favorite artists are Kanye West, J cole, Lil Wayne, Drake, Jay Z, and Wale.
Q: What advice would you give a young player who dreams of one day making it professional?
FA: Keep working hard and listen to your coaches, but the most important people you should always lean on are your family because they want nothing more than to see you succeed.
Q: What are your goals for this season, the near future, and your overall career?
FA: My goals for this season is to become a go to guy on Philly and help the team score goals, whether it’s me scoring or assisting. The goal for the near future is to hopefully be on the US national team for its qualifiers coming up this summer, and the goal for the future is to get to europe and play for a champions league team.
